We found an enclave of primitives today. They tried to take us captive and nearly suceeded. I managed to escape and summon a horde of Sloar that assualted their party and rescued the others. Ah, Sloar…so dumb and expendable but fun to watch in action! We had managed to follow the transit tubes and were about to repair an entire outpost. We tracked the survivors back to their village and freed our prisoners (lucky for them the Sloar didn’t eat them). We made our peaceful intentions clear and they let us travel to our destination unmolested. I think they realized we could genocide them entirely with little effort. I certainly think Akel wanted to. He seems to get into bloodthirsty moods from time to time.
Witnessed Akel’s power today. He drew the lifeblood of several sorry pathetic opponents right through their skin, then used the bound magical energy of the blood to fuel a fireball targeted into their friends. I must admit I was thrilled and terrified at the same time! A delightful sensation, as his close friend, a most distrubing and horrifiying trauma, as his enemy. I must always be mindful to keep him happy with our relationship. He is willing to listen, and apparently his military background has accustomed him to following orders. I think we will get along just fine. He has also been very good to Corin, which has earned my respect.
